The park had a mix of tenant-owned and park-managed sites, leaving guests confused about expectations and who to turn to when issues arose. Despite the headaches, the location was ideal — offering an easy solution for Cherokee’s overflow and an opportunity to expand Freedom’s footprint in a high-demand area.
This park wasn’t about expansion for the sake of growth — it was about operational strategy. By integrating The Cove into Cherokee’s management structure, Freedom could streamline staffing, reduce payroll, and offer more options to long-term and overflow guests. With smart cleanup, clear communication, and restructured use of the property, The Cove could become a stabilizing extension of an already thriving park.
The Cove now plays a key role in supporting Freedom’s long-term strategy in the Cherokee region. By cutting unnecessary costs, clarifying communication, and creating a small but flexible guest experience, the park has shifted from problematic to purposeful.
