Operations were entirely manual, and while the vibe was laid-back, it lacked structure and direction. Still, the community had potential — and Freedom saw the opportunity to unlock it.
Rather than overhaul the park’s character, the goal was to modernize the guest experience and build a stronger sense of community — all while preserving the heart of what made Cypress special. That meant investing in infrastructure, cleaning up what wasn’t serving the park, and shifting focus toward long-term residents and family-friendly programming.
Since the upgrades, Cypress Lake has seen stronger retention from long-term guests and growing interest from new families looking for affordable, community-driven stays. Infrastructure improvements and cosmetic upgrades have made a noticeable difference in guest satisfaction. Events now bring neighbors together, creating the kind of culture that keeps people coming back — and recommending it to others. With its original staff still in place and Freedom’s backing behind the scenes, the park feels like home — just with a much-needed refresh.
